STYLE GURU BIO: Kelsey Knepler

Can someone please explain to me where the time has gone? I simply cannot believe that I am writing my fifth Style Guru Bio for CollegeFashionista and am about to take on my final semester of college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Being a Style Guru intern has definitely been the most influential part of my college experience. It has unlocked so many new opportunities and introduced me to so many people who are now very important in my life. Additionally, working with my personal style has taught me about the potential that clothes have to aid the process of self-discovery. I love getting to show off my personality through what I wear every single day and learn more about myself by exploring my personal style.

When I’m not out scouting the latest street style trends, I have hobbies ranging from singing and acting to spinning to, of course, shopping! I love to hunt for unique pieces in thrift stores, malls, and boutiques. One of my current favorite finds is this world map watch, which is from Urban Outfitters. I also love taking photos and am constantly updating my Instagram. On campus, I like to keep busy with brand ambassador positions and student organizations. I love getting to meet new people through my various activities. I believe that every person has a unique story to tell, and I love to hear as many of these stories as I can.

My closet has recently amped up its edge a bit. The black booties complete with zip-up detail are a definite current go-to for me. This rocking leather skirt from Free People has also become one of my favorites during the day with a sweater or with a crop top at night. I love to buy clothes with unique details such as the lace-up style on this Express sweater. My jacket is also from Free People, and again, fits with the cool aesthetic of my outfit. The sweatshirt sleeves make this piece super comfortable and surprisingly warm. While the appearance of clothes is important, comfort is really key for me. Since a big part of fashion is the attitude you rock it with, you can’t wear anything uncomfortable to distract you! I also love to add softer, girly touches with accessories. For this look, I chose my favorite faux diamond choker. This gives the look a touch of glam and makes me feel super confident whenever I wear it. My main style tip Fashionistas/os is that if you dress in something that makes you feel good, you’ll radiate beauty on the outside naturally.

Here’s to making this last semester the chicest and most fabulous yet! I’ll catch you on campus!
