STYLE GURU BIO: Kelsey Cook

August 31st, 2016 at 2:00am

Hello there lovely people! My name is Kelsey Cook and I am thrilled to be returning as a Style Guru this fall semester. As a transfer student to Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, I am quite excited to be at a new school mostly to discover so many new things. Just like a new school, there are always new trends, new places to go and new things to learn. I am the type of person who loves new things, but is that surprising? I am double majoring in international studies and public relations with a minor in French. One of my many passions is traveling so with that I hope to study abroad next year to France, and eventually work with a company in either the fashion or nutrition industry internationally. Besides the heavy work load, I love learning in college. I am currently in my first business class and I absolutely love it. Learning about the way people think, how to strategize and how to prepare for future happenings is something I believe is important in any field, such as the fashion industry.

A few hobbies of mine are photography, cooking, shopping, and checking off things on my many to-do lists. I have had a passion toward photography ever since I was a child, taking photos of everything from food to scenery. Cooking is something that will always be useful and especially without a dining plan I have stepped up my recipe game big time. I have also always loved to shop, but on a tight college budget, thrift shopping and recreating old clothing items has been my go-to. Any Goodwill, Salvation Army or local thrift store has designable items for a low price which definitely beats name brand anything, for now. A college school year comes with a never ending to-do list and it has become a part of daily life. So why not make it interesting by mixing exciting tasks with productive ones such as designing a new skirt then doing a homework assignment and so on and so forth.

I am looking forward to finding new fashionable friends, so until the first post of this fall season, do not have anything less than a fabulous few weeks!
