STYLE GURU BIO: Kelly Noonan

Hello, ladies and gentlemen! I am Kelly Noonan and am a sophomore at the University of Dayton. I am a Marketing major and my end goal is to work the business side of the fashion industry. I am a self-declared diva and have gotten away with writing all of my English papers on Coco Chanel since eighth grade because she is a #GIRLBOSS.

I get my fashion inspiration from many of the YouTube gurus I subscribe to, such as The Messy Heads and Maddi Bragg (both highly recommend), the fearless Rihanna (still dying over her 2015 Met Gala gown) and past fashion trends. You can usually find me lost in the hundreds of racks in my local thrift stores and have been spending hours in vintage stores with my grandparents ever since I can remember. I love the challenge of sifting through the unique pieces and creating a look from a two dollar item.

I would describe my style as “edgy vintage.” I started this look off with a vintage, collared shirt and paired it with my leather skirt, that looks very similar to this skater skirt from Forever 21. I then wore my summer go-tos, which are these exact flatforms that I wore at my retail job at Forever 21 every day this past summer. To add another hint of the vintage feel, I sported a black, vintage floppy hat to keep my mysterious, spooky composure. I love pairing hats with my wardrobe because it gives me the aesthetic of being in a glamorous, old time movie but hides my blemishes at the same time. If you ever need that help here is a duplicate of the one I wore. I completed this look with my classic Russian Red lipstick from MAC Cosmetics and a sleek, black handbag.

I cannot wait to show you all the fleek Fashionistas/os of Dayton, OH because even in the middle of nowhere we can still keep it funky.
