STYLE GURU BIO: Kayla Winterton

The new year is here, and with it brings resolutions and the anticipation for change. I love that I have the ability to start fresh in my life, whether that includes personal goals or new fashion tastes. This is why I am so excited to begin my third semester as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista. I feel like my fashion tastes have grown more refined since I became a Style Guru, but one thing that I have learned from CollegeFashionista is the ability to be fearless and confident in how I dress. Being a Style Guru has given me the skills of becoming a stronger writer and photographer, while giving me the assurance to try new things, even if it may seem scary like applying for an internship I really want, getting a new haircut or trying out new styles of clothing.

One aspect in how my clothing has changed is my fascination with British culture and fashion. Right now, I am in love with the popular Topshop brand, which is why I had to show off my brand new dark green, suede Chelsea Topshop boots to get that cool, British vibe going. I have also added skinny jeans and pants in my wardrobe, which is why I wore my matching olive green skinny pants from American Eagle Outfitters. For a cool appearance, I sported my new, fashionable black puffer coat from Land’s End. I added my favorite Ray-Ban sunglasses to my attire to add a touch of confidence because what’s a girl to do without her Ray-Bans?

Above all, I have learned that change, even though it may seem daunting, helps you grow as an individual. This year, you should rock your fashion in confidence and be fearless. Also, don’t forget to read and “Rad” my posts every Monday this semester on CollegeFashionista.
