Hi y’all! I’m Kayla and I’m a freshman majoring in Fashion Merchandising at Kent State University. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to be a part of CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru writing in the FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT column every Wednesday. I’ve been given such an amazing opportunity to intern for CollegeFashionista and I could not be more thankful.
I was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. Now I know what you’re thinking, why would I ever want to move from the south all the way to the freezing cold that is Ohio? Well the answer is quite simple, I moved for fashion. I really wanted to get that college experience, and what better way than to move 12 ½ hours away in the pursuit of fashion?
Ever since I can remember I’ve dreamed of moving out of state for college, but it wasn’t always for fashion. I can’t sit here and tell you that I’ve had this passion for fashion since I was little or that I used to hold my own fashion shows where I’d model clothes, because that isn’t true. I had the absolute worst fashion sense when I was younger, I’m talking about mixing stripes with plaid and paisley prints in the same outfit. YIKES! Lucky for me, my fashion sense has grown along with me and you will never catch me in an outfit like that.
Typically you can find me drinking a grande Peppermint Mocha, on my computer doing what I like to call “online window-shopping” in a pair of black leggings, a cardigan and my large handbag at my side. I’m too fussy when it comes to dressing and you probably won’t catch me in a skirt or dress. I like to think of my style as chill-chic.
Well that’s enough about me. I can’t wait for you all to hear all about the lovely Fashionistas I get to interview this semester and see all the amazing fashion they have in store!
