STYLE GURU BIO: Katie Telepak

Hey Fashionistas! My name is Katie and I’m a senior at Florida State University majoring in Retail Merchandising and Product Development. I hope to one day become a professional celebrity stylist in Los Angeles like Rachel Zoe.

I’m originally from Cleveland, Ohio but go to school in Tallahassee, Florida so my closet is super diverse because I’m always going back and forth. My style is definitely more hippie and boho but I also LOVE the color black (who doesn’t?). I love anything and everything flowy from tie-dye maxi skirts to bell sleeved shirts. I was born in the ‘90s so I will never lose my love for overalls, crop tops and mom jeans. If only I could put “expert at turning Goodwill mom jeans into high-waisted shorts” on my resume.

I don’t think anyone is happy about summer ending, but on the plus side we get to go back to college! One of my all-time favorite trends came back in full swing this summer: overalls. They come in all different fabrics and lengths: denim, rayon, short, long. Personally, it took me an entire summer of searching to find the perfect pair. People always say once you stop looking for something, it will always find its way to you. I whole-heartidly believe in that because by the end of the summer, I had acquired five pairs of overalls in all different colors, fabrics and styles!

I found the beautiful pair of overalls that I am wearing here from Urban Outfitters, but you can find identical ones or denim ones pretty much anywhere. This bag was sent to me from the heavens because it was on sale and the only one left at H&M. Any outfit, whether you’re running late to class because you needed that venti black iced coffee or going on a date night, can look effortlessly put together with some Converse. I also scored this great hat at H&M but hats are super popular so most stores have them, especially Target.

Thanks for reading—I can’t wait for this exciting, fashionable year with you all!
