Happy summer y’all! A little bit of background information: my name is Katie Smith and I am a sophomore studying marketing at the University of South Florida. This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I couldn’t be more excited!
In elementary school I had the harsh realization that I couldn’t grow up to be a princess and unfortunately had to come up with a different career goal. Since then, my dream has always been to work in fashion. In middle school I would doodle fashion designs all over my notebooks. After many failed attempts and horribly drawn dresses, I concluded that fashion design wasn’t for me. The love for fashion still lingered in my mind, and that’s when I knew fashion styling was the way to go.
I am constantly inspired by the fashions of everybody around me. From my sorority sisters, to Instagram, to random passerby’s on the streets-I am always finding new fashion inspirations.
I have always believed that fashion is the truest form of self-expression and I absolutely love that. What better way to express yourself than through clothes? Rachel Zoe once said, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak,” and I couldn’t agree with her more! With that being said, my personal style is a little mix of everything. A lot of the time, I wear simple outfits but I make sure to accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!
If I’m not shopping or putting outfits together, you can find me playing with the nearest puppy or binge-watching a show on Netflix.
I am beyond excited to start this journey with CollegeFashionista. I truly love fashion and I am so blessed and thankful to have this opportunity. So, here’s to a great semester Fashionistas/os!
