STYLE GURU BIO: Katie Schwartz

Hi there, Fashionistas/os! I’m so happy to be back for my second semester with CollegeFashionista! From traveling to Thailand to starting my Style Guru journey, this summer was one for the books. However, I’m eager for this fall semester and for all the exciting things it has in store. This is my third year in college, but it’s my first year at Rollins College. While being a transfer student can be a little intimidating, it also provides so many new opportunities.

I feel like my style is always evolving, so I can’t wait to see how being in a new place impacts my choice of fashion. I’ll be continuing my communication studies and even adding on a focus in public relations to help me work towards my goals in the fashion industry (even though I’m still not exactly quite sure what I want to do).

My goal for this semester is to get a little more creative with my style. Being a poor college kid can often make my shopaholic heart ache, especially because it has such expensive taste. So, I’m determined to explore consignment shops and flea markets for hidden gems to help amp up my wardrobe. I think it’ll be really fun, challenging and creative. I can’t wait to show you all what I find!

As for right now, I’m loving minimalistic outfits with a pop of color. For example, the outfit I’m wearing here consists of a cream colored tank top, bold shorts (which are also super soft and comfortable) and nude heeled sandals. This is the perfect combination to make it through these hot, end-of-summer days.

If you need me, I’ll be flipping through the latest issue of Vogue, watching Youtube videos, obsessing over dogs, exploring clothing boutiques with an iced green tea latte in hand or scrolling through Instagram for fashion inspiration. I’m so happy to be back, and I can’t wait to see what else myself and other Style Gurus are capable of this fall!
