STYLE GURU BIO: Katie Pigott

Hello fashion friends! I am so jazzed to be once again writing for CollegeFashionista! It is a bittersweet semester as this will be my last semester writing for CollegeFashionsta. It makes me very sad because I really have come into my own as a writer and photographer. On the other hand, I am very excited because that means I am graduating! Say what!? That’s right, I will be finished this April with my Bachelor’s of Science in apparel, textiles and merchandising. The next step is to venture out into the real world and leave my school days behind me.

For those of you new to CollegeFashionista and to reading posts from me, here is a little bit about me and what I like to do. I fell in love with fashion around the age of 13 from competing in the Miss America Organization. I have competed for almost 10 years now and this is my last year eligible in the organization. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and MAO has an age requirement. I have been able to learn quite a lot about myself from competing and have gained a confidence that I didn’t even know I had. You can always see me with some type of coffee or tea in my hand. My love for Starbucks is unreal and skinny vanilla lattes are my favorite. Social media is where it is at. Twitter and Instagram are just a couple of my most used apps. I do however thoroughly enjoy my news apps; always need to stay on top of current events. If you’re a Scandal fan, I’m pretty sure we just became best friends. Olivia Pope is my hero.

One of my favorite things to wear are a pair of skinny jeans, high top chucks and a loose black t-shirt. However, I love to surprise people and dress it up. The outfit I am wearing here is one of my favorites. I love accessories and these lace tights are the bomb. Because I will be graduating soon and will be going to numerous interviews,I have been shopping at places like The Limited and Ann Taylor to heighten my wardrobe choices for potential interviews. They have the greatest blouses in both stores. The top I’m wearing I bought from Ann Taylor. Not only is it chic and sophisticated, but it works for many different occasions. My style is never consistent and I love that I can be a chameleon.

I can’t wait to write for all of you this semester stay tuned for all of the great fashion to come!
