Hello lovers of fashion! My name is Katie Pigott and I am thrilled to once again be a writer for CollegeFashionista. CollegeFashionista has actually helped me learn about what I want to do when I am done with college, which is a good thing because this year I am a senior at Eastern Michigan University. In April I will be walking across the stage receiving my Bachelors of Science in Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising. I really enjoy writing and I think that I could potentially be a writer for a magazine or become some type of fashion correspondent. Vogue magazine and E! News, here I come!
So here is an overview of me. I believe that people are put on a certain path in life because they are meant to change another person’s life in their journey. Lemon Zest Luna bars are my go-to snack. Seriously, I’m addicted. Passion fruit teas at Starbucks literally run my life and drain my wallet (#drinkmorepassion). I’m also an accent extraordinaire. You should hear my Tennessee accent, it’s the bomb.com. My iPhone lives in my hand and Twitter and Instagram are always up. I’m all about that hashtag and following fashion pages!
You know when you look at old high school pictures of yourself and say “oh god, how did I even think that was fashionable?” This was my life up until about three years ago. I had never owned my style or really even owned who I was as a person. So to say that my style has changed throughout the years would be an understatement. My personal style really changes when my mood changes. My staple pieces are skinny jeans, Converse and a black T-shirt. I love the basics, but have been experimenting more and have been a bit more ambitious with my looks. I try to change the style of them constantly. I don’t know about you, but I am absolutely obsessed with fall. I cannot wait for it to get a little chillier and bust a move with a new fall coat or some fabulous riding boots.
For this look, I tried to bring my fall game early and this is what I came up with. First off, can we talk about how much I am obsessed with this olive jacket? I’m on another level with it. It is so perfect for fall because of how lightweight and easy to layer it is. I paired my jacket with some of my favorite skinny jeans and a floral top that has the perfect collar. I laced up my combat boots and headed out the door.
Stay tuned this fall for more exciting and fun posts from me! Get excited Fashionista/os because this semester, the fashion game is going to be on point.
