Fashion drives me crazy! This time I’m using the word crazy like it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. I’m the kind of girl who doesn’t know how to dress down and agonizes about never having the basics. I can never say no to a statement piece. I believe shopping to be like a treasure hunt where I find treasure in an oversized, mica covered mini dress or my favorite vintage bouclé collared coat (which I bought for one dollar!). I enjoy the challenge of finding timeless pieces to style myself in and giving new personality to a top or bottom that has never experienced it before. Fashion drives me crazy because I get to have fun mixing and matching my crazy wardrobe.
I make my own clothes, too. I am a Fashion major and Textile minor in Philadelphia making weekly trips to visit my little sister in Manhattan and to the Garment District. My love of textiles is very much reflected in my style. Often times I’m wearing some wild print or mixing polka-dots and houndstooth (black and white is my favorite color couple). To add to this montage of bold patterns, I am also everyone’s favorite accessory girl. Whether it’s a hand made piece from my boyfriend’s found-object collection or a hand-me-down from my grandma, my appendages are always adorned with great conversational pieces.
Nevertheless, my greatest joy is sharing my love of fashion. The opportunity to write for CollegeFashionista is my middle school self’s dream come true. I cannot wait to learn about networking and finding my voice as your next style consultant. Previously, I have worked in freelance fashion photography and for a skin cancer prevention educator. I am without a doubt a people person and my past and future working to help people is all molding into one as I progress to make my generation feel beautiful. I am pleased to be joining the CollegeFashionista team and am proud to be representing the Moore College of Art & Design!
