STYLE GURU BIO: Katie Klinefelter

Good morning, good evening—whatever time it may be—thank you for stopping by my page! It’s crazy to announce that this is my third semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, and it may actually be my favorite semester because I adore summer fashion. I am for anything minimalistic, light and flowy.  Since some of you may be new readers, I’ll review my basic info. My name is Katie Klinefelter and I will be a sophomore at Ohio University, majoring in retail merchandising and fashion product development. Soon, I will be starting my entrepreneurship certificate and I’m anxious to see what my future holds.

I am a Pittsburgh girl who can never sit still. I crave adventure and exploration, which keeps my style and interests fascinating. Besides being a dedicated Fashionista, I have a huge appreciation for the arts, particularly performance art. Having been a dancer for the last 16 years of my life, this is a passion I hold close to my heart. I’m a health and fitness enthusiast, a coffee nut, a dog (Pug) fanatic and, most importantly, a family oriented girl. I’ve always been someone who doesn’t fear change and trying new things, which is a true reflection of my fashion taste.

Although I’m attracted to all sorts of individual pieces and combining them in new ways, I’ve come to learn that it’s easier to dress yourself when your clothing fits one aesthetic. Therefore, lately I’ve been eyeing and purchasing versatile neutral pieces, from jean dresses and black lace-up flats, to blush tank tops and all white sneakers. By building my wardrobe this way, not only is it quicker to figure out my outfit for the day, but I’m open to endless possibilities.  Neutral colors are surely taking over my closet. With this being said, my favorite pieces are stylishly simple and you can catch me wearing dainty gold jewelry almost daily.

Today, the look I am showing you is easy on the eyes and crazy comfortable. With the simple blush cami tucked into the cropped wide leg pant, I am left with an effortlessly chic outfit, ready to embrace that long-legged feel. Floral and flowy, these bold bottoms command attention without being too wild. I toss these on whenever my classic black pants aren’t giving my ensemble enough of a kick. To keep my look on the more laid back side, I slipped on my new metallic espadrilles. Lastly, I went the all natural route in the hair category, showing off the curls my mother passed on to me and of course, added a gold necklace and my everyday bangles.
