I’m back, biddies. My name is Katie Fabry and I’m entering my junior year studying Communications and Marketing at Stonehill College. After a summer hiatus from writing for CollegeFashionista, I’m more excited than ever to continue my editorial journey with the site. I couldn’t spend this summer completely apart from CollegeFashionista, though. I interned for the CollegeFashionista New York office and Jonathan Adler headquarters, which were two experiences more valuable than I could have ever imagined. This summer was an absolute whirlwind of fun, fashion and change. While it couldn’t have been better, I can’t wait to move into my favorite season—fall.
If you know me, you know that my style changes like the wind. From a young tomboy to a preppy, “all of this is from J.Crew” teenager, I’ve finally settled into this weird mix of bohemian, urban minimalism. This constant evolution is hands down my favorite part about fashion. As someone who isn’t always receptive to change, fashion is the one area of my life where I’m never afraid to be spontaneous. My eyes are always attentive as I take note of the crazy New York street style looks, forever inspired by the outpourings of creativity. I’ve also started to live in boyfriend jeans and leather jackets, which are a welcomed change. For the record, boyfriend jeans are really, really comfortable.
I’m sure there’s nothing but more change to come as I head across the pond this fall for a semester in London. I’ll be studying at Richmond, The American International University in London (it’s a mouthful, I know) and living in the lovely neighborhood of Kensington. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to go to London. I’ve always been obsessed with the fashion, the culture and the accents. When I was in high school, I was frequently told I looked British, which is the highest possible compliment someone could have given me. I’m overwhelmed and ecstatic to finally be embarking on this new journey and to be taking CollegeFashionista along for the ride.
Stay tuned for London street style looks and pictures of me pretending to be Annie James. Don’t worry, walking down the London streets in pink Beats, I’m still listening to One Direction and tripping over loose cobblestones. Cheers!
