Hello! My name is Kathryn Koyanagi and I am a fourth year Communication major at Simon Fraser University. I am returning for my fourth semester with CollegeFashionista and I cannot wait to start taking photos of all of the stylish students on campus! I am hopeful that my posts will inspire Fashionistas/os in all areas of the world.
Here in Vancouver, we have been having an incredible summer filled with many warm and sunny days. Although summer is coming to an end, I am looking forward to trading in my denim cut-offs for menswear blazers and boyfriend jeans. I can already tell that boyfriend jeans will become one of my fall staples as they match perfectly with a plain T-shirt and sneakers. As you can tell, I am going for the “less is more” type of look this season.
Throughout my years at SFU, my personal style has become a little bit less girly and a little bit more masculine. Lately, I find myself reaching for my sneakers rather than my signature booties. As we move into fall, I think sneakers are a great alternative for booties. I love my Vans because they keep my feet dry and they are comfortable to wear all day long.
To add a touch of detail to my outfit, I have chosen to pair my jeans with a black leather belt with gold detailing—all that I am missing is a large faced gold watch!
