If you asked any of my friends or classmates to describe me in a few words, nearly all of them would say “always overdressed,” “a die-hard makeup lover,” or “quiet and reserved.” My friends definitely aren’t wrong…fashion means everything to me and I love to show off my passions proudly by showing it in my outfits and makeup every day. As a very shy and quiet person, I’m not the most comfortable when it comes to interacting in large social situations. I find it a challenge to express who I am to other people through words, so I like to turn to fashion to creatively express myself. As renowned fashion photographer Bill Cunningham once said, “Fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life.”

I am currently a second year student at the University of Florida here in the small college town of Gainesville. I’m a marketing major and retailing minor, with big dreams of becoming a corporate fashion buyer for a major retail company. Aside from loving fashion and makeup, I also love art, shopping, sleeping, photography, and eating food at trendy restaurants. I am in love with the color pink, and I am attracted to anything sparkly, glittery, or shiny.

I would describe my personal style as girly and glamorous. I absolutely LOVE faux fur, glitter/sequins, faux leather, anything in blush pink, and diamonds. One of my favorite style icons is Micah Giannelii, a well-known fashion blogger. I’d say her style fits my taste to a T. I will always love a girly pink glamorous outfit, but I also love an edgy but trendy all black outfit. Anything that is over the top, I am a huge fan of.

Here I am wearing an off-the-shoulder blush pink long-sleeve paired with a navy blue skort. I love this skort’s unique shape and thought it would pair nicely with a simpler pink top. I couldn’t forget an element of glam, so I had to accessorize with my sparkly rhinestone choker! I am obsessed with this necklace and pair it with everything. To top it off, I wore black over-the-knee boots. In places like Gainesville, where it’s only a mere 68-70 degrees on average in winter, pairing boots with a skort is something I could totally get away with!

Have fun with fashion and always stay true to your own style! Fashion is art, so it’s up to you to create your own artwork, regardless of what others say. Until next time, stay slaying!
