Hi Fashionistas and Fashionistos, I am Katherine Campbell and I am thrilled to be a part of College Fashionista this summer! I am a second year Art & Design student at the University of Michigan and a self-described Elie Saab fanatic. On any given day, I can be found with a cup of coffee and my well-worn Nikon on hand. My love for fashion is fueled by a desire to become Vanity Fair’s next Annie Leibovitz and the search for fun creative outlets outside of my studies. As an aspiring editorial photographer, I am beyond excited to put my own journalism skills to the test and show off some really cool things from fashion’s latest newcomers.
As for my style? I am big believer in trusting yourself to cultivate your own unique look. I believe part of that is discovering what gives you the most inspiration to look and feel your ultimate best. My tried and true inspirations and fashion icons are Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin and the forever-quirky Olsen twins. Give me a well-structured silhouette with a bohemian twist and a great chunky shoe and I am all yours. For my own style, I like to keep to muted colors, such as deep reds, blues, and blacks, and I have a bag to keep with me at all times.
As a brand new Style Guru intern for CollegeFashionista, I am excited to bring you news about up-and-coming boutiques and designers in my feature, AROUND TOWN. I will be on the lookout for chic fashion with an opinion of its own and a fresh perspective on the industry that will hopefully inspire you to discover some new trends this summer.
Hope you enjoy reading every Wednesday and let’s have some fun!
