In the words of Rachel Zoe, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak”. My name is Kate Elizabeth Hostetler and I am one of the most fashion-obsessed people you will ever meet. I eat, sleep and breathe fashion at The Ohio State University where I am majoring in Fashion and Retail Studies and minoring in Business. I’m a proud member of Kappa Alpha Theta, a vivacious fashion blogger, a Nordstrom sales associate and your very own writer for STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK here at CollegeFashionista! It’s great to be back for a second term and I can’t wait to share style tips this summer with all of you!
I am the founder of the fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog, Dry-Clean Only. I created Dry-Clean Only as an inspirational, creative outlet where I post my interpretation of the latest fashion and beauty trends and my personal opinions on the fashion industry. I have always had a love for writing and photography as well, so being able to combine them with my “passion for fashion” was a dream come true. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll see “Dry-Clean Only” in more places than just the tag with cleaning directions. If you want to follow me on my other platforms liking my Facebook page would be a great place to start!
My style in one word is indescribable. I don’t like to put my style in a box by classifying myself into one specific category; my style changes based on my mood—you never know what you’re going to get with me. I think the brilliant Alexander McQueen said it best, “It’s a new era in fashion—there are no rules. It’s all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels and up-and-coming designers all together.” I love to combine different labels like J Brand, Forever 21, Burberry, Target and Free People on a daily basis. Mixing and matching brands and price points is really interesting and I love creating a whole new look through the combination of different designers and their unique styles.
Lauren Conrad is definitely my number one fashion inspiration and overall role model. She is classy, fabulously feminine and has killer style – we could totally be best friends. I think that both Elie Saab and Roberto Cavalli are simply genius and it would be a dream come true to wear a creation by either one of them. Hey, a girl can dream right?
This summer along with dishing you your day-to-day style advice I will continue to work on my education at summer school, work at Nordstrom in the t.b.d. department, blog like it’s my job, expand my social media presence and try not to spend every dollar I earn on clothing. It’s about to be a busy summer and I can’t wait to dive right in!
So sit back, relax by the pool and get ready to indulge in some great style advice because I promise you, I won’t disappoint. If you’ve got any questions or your name is Lauren Conrad feel free to contact me via Facebook, Twitter, Dry-Clean Only or just leave a comment below! Have a wonderful summer and don’t forget to check back next week!
