STYLE GURU BIO: Kara McCrudden

Hey there Fashionistas! My name is Kara, and I go to Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. I’m a senior this year, and I am really looking forward to spending my last semester in school as a Style Guru. I’m excited for graduation this May, but at the same time I’m extremely nervous! As cliché as it sounds, time really does fly.

Almost exactly a year ago, I left for a trip that changed my life forever. Studying abroad in Florence, Italy was the most amazing experience I have ever had, and I daydream about it every day. I picked up some fashion ideas while traveling Europe, and got some tips from foreign Fashionistas/Fashionistos on how to get creative with outfits and think outside the box.

If I had to describe my style in a word, it would be “versatile.” I do not like to put a label on my personal style, because it is constantly changing! I am always open to new trends and ideas, and I think it is important to dress to impress YOURSELF. At the end of the day, you should be the one who loves your outfit. Who cares if someone else isn’t a fan?

For this outfit, I decided to start with one of my winter essentials, a turtleneck. From there I layered on a leather jacket and accessorized with a watch. My favorite part about this look is the pants. Although they have the appearance of black jeans, they have the comfort of leggings with an additional lace detailing. I think this detailing makes the outfit unique and a good reason to take a second glance. This look would be great for a day of shopping or grabbing lunch with some friends. As long as it’s comfortable and cute, your options are limitless!

I can’t wait to see what this semester has in store, and I am looking forward to reading about everyone else’s thoughts on fashion! I am psyched to find some Fashionsitas to write about and explore my love for writing. Hope everyone has a #RAD Spring semester!
