STYLE GURU BIO: Kalynn Smith

Hi Fashionistas/os!

I can’t believe it’s officially been a year since I joined the CollegeFashionista team. Throughout this past year, I feel like I’ve learned so much about the fashion industry, social media and myself while being a part of the program. It’s been so much fun! This is my first semester being a social media intern in addition to being a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, which I am excited about as well because social media is one of my favorite things. I think the power of social media is incredible, and it’s a blast coming up with unique, creative content that people enjoy.

As I’ve continued to pursue my dreams of working in the fashion industry, I’ve found new hobbies and things that I enjoy. Currently, I am insanely intrigued by the parts of the world I have yet to see. This past summer I was a social media/marketing intern for Motiv-8 Performance and spent six weeks living in Orange County, California. This was my first time living anywhere besides Ohio, and it has opened my eyes tremendously. Now I would love to have to opportunity to live in all different places around the world for short periods of time. I really want to spend time living in Europe and eventually end up in Los Angeles someday as well.

When it comes to fashion, I’m your typical college girl who is constantly searching for ways to stay comfortable while also looking cute. My latest favorite trend is athleisure, which in my opinion, is a mix of sporty and chic trends to create the ultimate back-to-school outfit. For this I think mixing sporty jackets, like leather or denim, with leggings and tennis shoes are a perfect combo. My wardrobe is filled with edgy and sporty items, so I have been enjoying thinking of ways to mix these two trends together. The outfit I am wearing here is also another one of my latest obsessions, the ’90s. Bodysuits and chokers are everywhere you look lately, and I think it’s great.

I can’t wait to create more articles and social media posts for CollegeFashionista this semester! Make sure you are following me on my Instagram to stay up to date with what’s going on in my day to day life. Happy fall!
