Well hello there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Kalie Marsch and I’ve had a “passion for fashion” (as I like to call it) ever since I can remember. I am a junior at Florida State University where I am majoring in Editing, Writing and Media – my dream is to move to NYC and work as an Editor for a fashion magazine. I love to write and am beyond thrilled to announce that I will be contributing to the STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK column for CollegeFashionista!
As far as my personal style goes, I have a penchant for pieces that give off a chic, polished and feminine look. Whether it be a bright tailored Rebecca Minkoff blazer or a stunning pair of white Steve Madden stilettos, I love mixing high-end designer pieces with more casual ones. For instance, I love pairing my latest obsession, my BCBGMAXAZRIA Allie Whip-Stitch Satchel with my favorite pair of ripped boyfriend jeans from American Eagle Outfitters. I especially love handbags, and try to find ones that are made from quality materials that I know will last forever. A girl can never have too many purses, that’s for sure!
Fashion is a form of expression that has no boundaries – inspirations from the world around us allow people to create their own unique style. I love being inspired by unique trends that I see people wearing on campus, in pictures on various fashion blogs, etc. Kerry Washington, Olivia Palermo and Blake Lively are just a few of my favorite style icons that have created their own distinctive style over the years.
I already know that writing for CollegeFashionista is going to be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, and I look forward to sharing my style advice with all of you. Don’t forget to check back weekly for my latest article!
