STYLE GURU BIO: Kaitlyn Naze

Hey everyone! My name is Kaitlyn, and I am currently a senior at Stonehill College majoring in Communications and minoring in Cinema Studies. My hope is to go into Public Relations right out of college. This is my second, and last semester, as Style Guru, and I could not be more excited to scope out all of the Fashionistas on campus. I still cannot believe that I am going into my last semester of college, so I am definitely going to make the most of it and find the most stylish college students to showcase in my articles.

This past fall semester I was lucky enough to live and intern in New York City. I was a fashion intern at a PR firm, and it was every bit chaotic and awesome. I sent celebrities countless fashion articles, assisted at Press Preview events, organized mailings and created mock-ups of all the magazine and website placements our clients had. One of the most exciting moments from my internship was when I was working check in at one of our events and Nigel Barker, from America’s Next Top Model, walked by with his wife. I acted completely poised and polite on the outside, but on the inside, I was freaking out because it was THE Nigel Barker. In middle school, I use to binge watch America’s Next Top Model like it was my job. I was a little obsessed and always dreamed of meeting the judges, so you can imagine my surprise when Nigel and his wife walked by me and said hello. They looked like they just stepped off the cover of a magazine, with confidence oozing off of them. I am still shocked that I managed to keep my cool in front of them. I have met so many influential fashion editors and bloggers throughout my internship that inspired my own personal style.

The person that has influenced my style the most is none other than Taylor Swift. Taylor carries herself with such grace and class that it is no surprise that her style exudes elegance.

In the outfit pictured, I am wearing my new American Eagle Outfitters winter coat, cream-colored cable knit sweater and Spanx leggings. With the cold season looming near, I like to layer, which is why I have a nice cozy sweater on with my big winter coat. I also wore my favorite black leather shoes with Ray Bans and a black purse. Like Taylor, I wore a red lipstick from Urban Decay’s Matte collection.

I believe a killer outfit or makeup can change your entire day. Feeling kind of glum? Put on some red lipstick and kiss the blues away. Feeling self-conscious? Put on your favorite pair of heels and walk off that self-doubt. Have a million things to do but not enough time? Put on your boyfriend jeans, take a step back and get it done.

Choose your outfits with this Coco Chanel quote in mind, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
