My name is Julie Song, and I choose to live my life by these two inspiring quotes: “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm,” by Ralph Waldo Emerson and “for beautiful eyes, look for the good in others, for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone” by Audrey Hepburn.
First, I’d like to share a little bit about myself. I am a 22-year-old Korean-American, raised from the suburbs right outside of Philadelphia. I am a senior studying Strategic Communications and concentrating in Public Relations. What are my dreams? I want to be happy and find and do something I love. I have many interests in different things such as the fashion industry, the entertainment industry, government work and hospitality. I would love to be able to work in all of these professions in my lifetime and with my enthusiasm to learn and my determination, I know I can take on any challenges that will come my way.
In my free time I love shopping and catching up on the latest fashion trends. I like to play around with my style a lot, and I get inspired by many different looks. I would say my style ranges from sophisticated, grunge, punk, girly-girl, boho-chic and vintage. I get inspired by watching my favorite television shows (Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Scandal, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars), seeing outfits on mannequins at my favorite stores or people (Forever 21, H&M, Urban Outfitters), look books and flipping through the pages of magazines (Seventeen, Vogue, ELLE magazine, Cosmopolitan). Fashion will always be a big part of my lifestyle because I am able to create different looks depending on the mood that I find myself in. Clothing is a form of self-expression and that is what I love about fashion.
Life is full of surprises, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me. I’m thrilled to be on this journey as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this summer, and I’m looking forward to this wonderful opportunity!
