STYLE GURU BIO: Julia Warnock

Hello CollegeFashionistas/os! My name is Julia Warnock and I am now a senior (scary) at James Madison University majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Human Resource Development. I am thrilled to begin showcasing some of my favorite local looks on CollegeFashionista this summer!

To tell a little about me, I was born and raised on the notorious Jersey Shore but I am probably the farthest thing from a “guidette.” What many people don’t know is that there is so much more to the Jersey Shore than fake tans and the Seaside Heights boardwalk. Growing up at the beach has completely shaped me into the person I am today, especially my style. I adore the laid back, just-off-the-beach bohemian look. Through this look, I express my personal style as well as my roots. You can usually find me wearing a comfy tunicgladiator sandals and my Victoria Emerson wrap bracelet.

I couldn’t really tell you how I ended up in Harrisonburg, Virginia at JMU. Being a severe homebody, I never thought I would be able to leave my New Jersey beach town. However, choosing to attend James Madison has forced me to come out of my comfort zone and allowed me learn a plethora of new things, including new fashion. Coming to college was the first time I was exposed to a different and more southern style. Cowboy boots, monograms and Croakies caught me off guard at first, but now I am able to appreciate these pieces.

I have always been one who is easily inspired. You can almost always find me on Pinterest pinning my entire life, from outfits to apartment DIYs to what I am going to (attempt) to make for dinner that night. I believe that some of the greatest things in this world were developed from some sort of inspiration. You know what they say, “great minds think alike.”

This summer, I hope to inspire readers with my sense of fashion as well as inform them on how easy it is to achieve the look that they want. I am also so excited to learn more about my fellow Fashionistas/os’ styles and hopefully become inspired by them!
