STYLE GURU BIO: Julia Daoud

Hello Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Julia Daoud and I am a junior at DePaul University. I am getting a degree in the Health Sciences and this is my third semester writing for CollegeFashionista!

Fashion was always something that I just seemed to get. While going to a school with a uniform for 12 years, Vogue was my bible and the sciences were my passion. I am extremely proud to be where I am today and to say that yes, I am fulfilling both of those dreams. At just four years old, my house was my runway and I modeled my mom’s closet on the daily. Even with a four-month-long broken leg, nothing stopped me from my runway, or binge watching the Science channel.

Growing up I felt trapped and unable to express myself, so I packed my bags and moved to the Windy City. My move to Chicago three years ago was the greatest decision I knew I had made for myself. Within these years I have grown in ways little four year old me would have never imagined. Working for CollegeFashionista, getting a degree of my dreams and being a full time blogger has helped me to discover and execute my passion.

Although my personal style has evolved greatly over the years, I must say that what has not changed is my desire to always have a timelessly identifiable look. I am always on the search for your not-so-typical places to shop or those certain unique pieces that no one else has. While on this quest, I value simplicity. There is a beauty in simplicity and I make sure to incorporate that into my day-to-day wardrobe and lifestyle.

For your weekly fashion and lifestyle fix, be sure to check back with me every Friday. I want you to be inspired! Fashion is language and style is knowing who you are and what you want to say. Create your own style that is identifiable to others, yet unique for yourself. Want a sneak peak for what’s to come? Dark neutrals, sophisticated edgy and comfortably chic attires.
