Hello! I’m Judy Daghestani, senior at American University in Washington, D.C. and I am a business management major. I’ve done various marketing internships and have had marketing and PR director positions in clubs throughout my college career. I’m excited to write for CollegeFashionista where I can use my skills to explore the world of fashion marketing and PR. With social media so important these days, I’m happy I’ll be able to use all my media platforms when posting throughout the internship since I’m also in the Social Media Club at AU.
I was born and raised in southern California for most of my life and moved to Dubai in high school. I was lucky to be exposed to places that yield entirely different lifestyles, norms, people and even fashion styles. I was exposed to fashion at an early age from my mom. She never failed to amaze me with her talents of mixing and matching outfits and was an inspiration to me to start noticing seasonal fashion trends.
A late bloomer, it took me until beginning of college to really start having an eye for fashion. Before college, I would say my style was reserved and simple. Now, I can’t leave the house without trying something that stands out! Whether it’s a bold shade of lipstick, a funky ring (or four) or shiny leather pants, I love spicing up a bland outfit. Bohemian-esque by day and flashy at night, I view fashion as an art — my mini gateway of expression depending on the day or my mood. Why not have fun being your own mannequin? I hope you enjoy my LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS weekly posts. I know I’ll have fun writing them. These AU boys better dress to success this semester because their spotlights start now.
