STYLE GURU BIO: Jordan Trombetta

Hello, Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Jordan Trombetta, and this is my first semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru. I am currently a sophomore Fashion Merchandising major at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and am minoring in Studio Art and Marketing. I have been reading through CollegeFashionista since I was in high school, and I am thrilled to get to finally have the opportunity to be writing for it!

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted a career in the fashion industry. I kept a sketchbook of all of the clothes I designed, and knew this was the career path for me. When in high school, I started to think of ways I could get my foot in the door to the fashion world, and I found CollegeFashionista. This blog reinforced my decision of studying Fashion Merchandising at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Becoming a Style Guru allows me to do all of the things I love: writing, having photo shoots and putting my styling skills to the test.

My two favorite styles are bohemian and edgy—you will either see me decked out in groovy-patterned bell bottom pants, or looking rather witchy in black from head to toe. I have also been into nude and neutral tones lately, and love to play with all sorts of makeup trends. I tend to mix and match my different tastes into fun and exciting compositions, matching romantic bohemia with bold, grunge pieces.

Now that you know what I love fashion-wise, you should know me on a more personal level. First off, I am a huge animal lover and am “obsessed” with my pup, who will more than likely pop up in a post here or there. Second off, I love yoga and also the cute clothes that come with the practice. Third and finally, I am a firm believer in wearing what you like. Every single person has his or her own unique style, and I can’t wait to help spread these looks!

I always keep in mind that if I listened to half the people who “made fun” of my fashion choices, I wouldn’t be the Style Guru I am today! So, stick to the saying, “Forget the rule—if you like it, wear it,” and don’t be afraid to show off your individual style.

Here’s to the chilly, winter-morning walks to our 8:00 a.m. classes this semester. Remember to look your best! Cheers!
