STYLE GURU BIO: Jordan Miller

June 1st, 2016 at 2:00am

Hey, y’all! My name is Jordan and I am a junior at the University of Alabama! I’m pursuing a degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice. My end goal is either law school, something in fashion or a combination of the two. So you can pretty much just call me the next Elle Woods.

My hobbies include shopping, writing, blogging and, of course, binge-watching Netflix. I also am starting to get more and more into photography (thank you, CollegeFashionista!), as well as yoga and sometimes (read: rarely) the gym.

Being from Orlando, Florida, it can be really difficult to find a cute-yet-comfortable outfits in this blazing summer heat. So right now my go-to look is a t-shirt dress, because it’s casual and lightweight, but still fun and flirty. I also like it because you can dress it up or dress it down depending on the shoes, accessories and hair you choose. For a Sunday full of church and shopping, I chose my Jeffrey Campbell booties (functional AND comfortable), and my Altar’d State fringe bag which I’m completely obsessed with. I seriously can’t leave the house without it; it’s been my staple item this entire spring. Even though it’s a darker tone, it can be used to spice up almost any outfit; it adds a certain flare that you just can’t get with other bags. Plus, as the bag is monochromatic, I can let a brighter or more mixed-pattern outfit be what stands out. For a different look, say a Thursday-night-casual dinner, you could dress it down by wearing white high-top converse and instead of curling your hair, maybe try two side braids.

This is my first semester as a Style Guru, and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead! When I’m not home for the summer, you can catch me on campus at U of Alabama probably carrying my marble laptop in one hand and a venti iced Starbucks in the other. I am the assistant rituals chair of my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, as well as an intern at my church, Church of the Highlands. School, my sorority and my faith keep me very busy, however, I think being involved on campus is super important!

I can’t wait to see all the #RAD looks and trends around Florida this summer, and I’m so excited to be the one to capture them! Until then, I’ll be eating too much Chinese food, using the dog-filter on Snapchat way too often and buying too many lipsticks that I don’t really need.
