Hi fellow style mavens! I’m Jing Chen from New York University majoring in Public Relations and Corporate Communication. I can’t believe this is my third semester with CollegeFashionista! The joyful moment that Amy informed me I had officially become a Style Guru feels like it just happened yesterday. From winter to fall, I have captured over thirty trendsetters and written for two different categories. My experience as a Style Guru has honed not only my interest in fashion but also my media and communication skills.
I felt so lucky that I could work as a Style Guru in my last semester at Purdue University. It enables me to dig out the exclusive fashion taste of Purdue. College in the countryside can be a chic runway as well. Admittedly, it is super exciting for me to be able to reach out to so many trendsetters on campus.
Writing weekly posts is a great way to catch the current trends. Inspired by both trendsetters and fashion news, my daily outfits have become so up to date. I’m always a big fan of the boyfriend style. Due to hot weather and the relaxing vibe of summer break, I prefer to get decked out in casual ensembles as of late. Graphic print T-shirts with a relaxed fit and soft cotton textures are my favorite. I also like grunge inspired plaid shirts from Givenchy and this repeated eagle print sweatshirt from Boy London. I apply the fresh and special fashion tips I learn from my fellow Fashionistas to my relatively leisure looks in order to add extra style points.
Making work become interest is everyone’s dream. At least I enjoy the work of a Style Guru. In the upcoming fall semester I will start my new life in New York, which is one of the most exciting and fashionable cities in the world. I will write for ACCESSORIES REPORT this semester. I can’t wait to kick off my life in New York and spot outstanding accessory lovers!
