STYLE GURU BIO: Jessica Rosen

Hey there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Jessica Rosen and I am a junior at Columbia College Chicago studying Marketing with a minor in Fashion business. Since style watching and fashion are my two loves, I am very excited to be starting this internship with CollegeFashionista! I love every aspect of the fashion industry; however, fashion marketing is by far my favorite (other than style watching, of course). After graduating, I plan on doing marketing for a Fashion magazine, website or corporation. Some of my favorites include NYLON magazine, PAPER, Kayture and Bryanboy.

A few of the trends I am already forecasting a serious lust for this summer are the midi look as well as the bat like sleeve dresses and tops that have been hitting the runway this summer season and will make their way to the masses. I am also really looking forward to what this summer of street style has to show for the concept of high-waisted shorts and midriff baring tops. Gladiators do not seem to be going anywhere this summer either; nevertheless, who doesn’t love a good pair of gladiator sandals to complete a great outfit?

Through writing for CollegeFashionista, I aspire to uncover some street style trends and showcase the wicked sense of style fellow college students have while getting others to expand on their style.

My sense of style is a collage of inspiration I have gathered through style watching, films and music videos, traveling and, of course, watching what pops up on the runway each season. I cannot easily describe my style because it is always changing and altering. I love that fashion allows me to convey who I am while enabling me to step out of my comfort zone and try new styles. I hope through my posts here on CollegeFashionista, the reader can learn how to embrace their style but also step out of their style comfort zone and try something new.
