STYLE GURU BIO: Jessica Ganak

Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Jessica Ganak and I am a junior at Washington State University where I am currently studying Apparel Merchandising and Business. This is my first time writing for CollegeFashionista and I am beyond thrilled to have been given the opportunity to join the team!

Having been born in the Seattle area, I was fortunate enough to have been exposed to all sorts of different fashions and styles throughout the years. The rainy and cold weather in this area means that I need to dress prepared in the colder months during the year. Dressing for winter and fall is by far my favorite since I have been so accustomed to layering and bundling up my whole life. You can always find me wearing my olive-green hooded utility jacket, a soft/warm infinity scarf, and some cute black boots on a cold day in the city. I also really love the classic and chic look of a simple, monochromatic color scheme. Black, gray, white and other neutral colors make up a majority of my closet to make for easy outfit picking. For this look, I made use of one of my many plain sweaters and paired it with some cute tribal-print shorts and black booties. I accessorized with some of my favorite rings as well as a big, chunky silver necklace.

My interest in the fashion industry all started (embarrassingly enough) with my obsession of Lauren Conrad from The Hills and grew from there because I realized the true form of expression that fashion really is. I am so grateful that I get to attend a school that offers me the chance to study the industry that I grew up to be so captivated by. Therefore, I am very excited to be able to showcase all the different Washington trends  that can be seen on my campus as well as in Seattle for the next few months. Be sure to check in weekly and to follow me on all forms of social media to stay updated. Now let the fun begin!
