Hi everyone! My name is Jessa Gianotti and I am returning for my third semester as a Style Guru at CollegeFashionista. Although I am still in denial about it, I will be entering my senior at The College of New Jersey in the fall as a Journalism and Professional Writing major with a minor in Marketing. The past two semesters I have written for the FASHIONISTA/O SPOTLIGHT category, but this summer I am ecstatic to start writing for STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK for a change.
Fashion is something that has always consumed me. Even before understanding the fashion industry or sophisticated designs, I have always loved clothing. My mother has always let me dress myself from a young age — for better or for worse. Luckily my older brother, a men’s clothing and accessories designer, has always been teaching me about fashion, and I have him to thank for a great deal of my knowledge and love of fashion. This is also a reason that I also love scoping out men’s styles just as much as women’s.
My style is mostly preppy, although sometimes I find myself leaning towards more bohemian pieces, especially in the summertime. But most days you can usually find me in an oxford shirt and pearls. My style is influenced a great deal by classics like Jackie Kennedy Onassis and contemporary style icons like Emma Watson. I also love blogs like “The College Prepster” and “Gal Meets Glam.” I practically live on fashion blogs and social media, so writing for a CollegeFashionista is ideal for me, allowing me to combine my love for writing and fashion in an outlet outside of the classroom. Be sure to look out for my STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK posts every Monday!
