STYLE GURU BIO: Jenny Zurlinden

Aside from what I’m really supposed to be at college for—the books and going to class and stuff—it’s definitely taught me to not care what everyone thinks about you. College is definitely the place to “find yourself” and really get a sense of what you like, in terms of anything, really. To me, it’s been about finding my personal style. I’ve learned that my personal style is kind of all over the place, depending on the day and what I feel like. I guess when I was taking these pictures it was edgy-Spiderman-meets-cute-Topshop-scalloped-skirt? Anyway, I really loved this outfit, and it was actually really quick to put together.

I bought this skirt about a year ago and never really had the chance to wear it—until that moment, that is! It’s super cute and feminine in my opinion, and you can pair it with anything. My Spiderman shirt is one of my faves; it’s definitely a crowd favorite, too because who doesn’t love Spiderman?

I thought my leather jacket was a great touch because this outfit could go without it and still look complete. I believe that a nice leather jacket should be a staple in anyone’s wardrobe. I wanted to make this outfit just a little more dressy, so I added a chunky, gold necklace. This is probably my most worn necklace, as it can pretty much go with anything.

I know I said that every other item in this outfit is my favorite, but when I start talking about my shoes, I really mean it. Okay, so these sandals are Steve Madden, and I don’t think I’ve ever truly been in love with a pair of shoes until these guys. I’ve never owned a pair of platforms before, but trust me, once you wear platform, you’ll never go back. These things are surprisingly easy to walk in and super comfortable. The lace-up straps make the shoe that much more feminine and petite.

I think this outfit has the perfect amount of edge mixed with the right amount of girly, and it’s perfect to wear for a casual night out on the town, don’t you think?
