STYLE GURU BIO: Jenny Berryman

Hi there! First, I am super excited about writing for CollegeFashionista this semester because I have been putting off starting up a blog for so long that this gives me the opportunity to finally begin. This fall, I will begin my second year at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan with a major in product development.

Unfortunately, I cannot remember exactly when I realized I wanted to work in the fashion industry, but I certainly do remember homemade fashion shows being a major part of my childhood. I have worked since I was pretty young, so I always had the freedom to shop for myself and really develop a personal style early on. Then as the years progressed, I realized I have a total obsession with helping other people find theirs.

Other people would be able to describe my style better than I can just because if I see something I like, I’m going to wear it regardless of the category it fits into. Usually, I do tend to gravitate towards trendier pieces—darker colors, denim or leather. I definitely try to incorporate at least one masculine piece that makes the outfit look a tad tougher.

In this outfit, I opted for a something laid back that could carry me from class to a date night. It’s a strong belief of mine that one can never go wrong with lace-up heels to add a little sexy to simple denim. I also own a million of these oxfords because they go with numerous occasions. Also, be sure to add a fun bag to pop your look!

I am so lucky to be going to school in New York where I can express myself each day so openly, and I am stoked to share more of what inspires my looks this semester!
