STYLE GURU BIO: Jennifer Spencer

Hi fellow Fashionistas/os!  My name is Jennifer Spencer and this will be my second fabulous semester here at CollegeFashionista. I am excited to be back for another great semester, meet more amazing Fashionista/os and be a part of this fab group a semester longer.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to share my style and my passion with others, while learning valuable skills that will help me grow in the fashion and blogging world.  Fashion is, and will always be a part of me, so I have decided to turn it into a career.

I am currently a third year student at University of California, San Diego, and majoring in international relations with a communications minor. I am oddly beyond ready to take on the real world, start graduate school and begin my career. I’ll hopefully have a career that I love, so why wait?  My goal is to get a job in international marketing for a large fashion brand because traveling for a career just seems like the most amazing opportunity.

Fashion has always been a passion of mine, whether it’s watching reruns of last year’s spring fashion shows or catching up on my favorite bloggers in my free time. I am always keeping up on the latest trends and making sure I am all caught up in the fashion world.

However, something that is more important to me, is my personal style.  Rachel Zoe once said, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.”  It’s true, your style is your first impression before you go to shake a person’s hand, it can either help you or hurt you, and in the end, it does give people a glimpse of who you are.  Having your own style and being confident in it, is an amazing accomplishment because it lets you not conform to “the latest trend” or your town’s latest fad.  It allows you to look and feel amazing regardless of what others say and this, to me, is so important.

I would say my style is trendy, girly, classy and glam. The outfit I chose to wear isn’t exactly the perfect choice for spring, but I recently started an internship and it can be quite chilly in the mornings or later in the afternoon when I leave. My dress code is business casual to dressy casual so for me, wearing a dark pair of jeans is my go-to. I also love these leather booties because if I don’t want to wear heels all day and don’t want to go through the pain of getting blisters from flats, a little pair of booties works perfectly. I also have been loving high neck tops such as this one because they pair great with a statement necklace or a fun outwear piece such as a sleeveless vest, or this pinstriped button-up.
