My name is Jennifer and I am currently a sophomore studying Economics and International Studies at Denison University. Though I spend the majority of my year studying in Granville, OH, I still consider Pittsburgh, PA to be home.
Growing up in a city that is more known for our crazy love for our sports team and all things black and gold, I always had an interest in fashion. Whether it was dressing up my dolls or picking my own outfits for school, I always found myself enjoying it. I love the way people are able to show their personality through the way they dress. Fashion to me really is walking art and it is absolutely everywhere. As Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
My day-to-day style constantly changes depending on my mood and the atmosphere around me, but I usually stick to set staples in my closet to ground my choices. When I have a difficult time choosing an outfit, I usually go back to the basics. I tend to wear a lot of black and neutral colors, dresses, and stripes—they are my favorite print to wear. It is difficult for me to narrow down my style to just one word but I have always found myself leaning towards girlier classic looks. I get my style inspirations from celebrities like Alexa Chung, Rachel Bilson, Lauren Conrad and the Olsen twins and from flipping through the pages of Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour and Vogue.
I am excited to be part of the CollegeFashionista team for another semester, and I look forward to showing everyone the most stylist Fashionistas and Fashionistos Denison University has to offer in the WHAT TO WEAR section this spring!
