It’s about that time again for a new semester of fashion with me, Jennifer Burchette (a.k.a. Fashionista Jenn). This will be my third semester as Style Guru for Virginia Commonwealth University. I’m returning this spring semester with a lot more professional knowledge and experience in the fashion industry that I’m more than excited to share with you. Coming from summer to fall semester as a Style Guru, it was so great to see VCU’s fashion at its prime. This semester should be no different, if not better. The more time I spend spreading the word about CollegeFashionista with others, the more I realize that people recognize VCU already as being a very diverse and fashionable campus. This campus truly earns the title of the word CollegeFashionista, because we are filled with nothing but.
This spring semester, I’m a proud 21-year-old senior and a Virginia Beach native. I’m a creative advertising major in the School of Mass Communications and a business minor. I am quite the busy bee this past and upcoming semester. Besides an internship with CollegeFashionista, I am currently an intern for Richmond, Virginia’s Jewelry Box boutique. I’ve also recently have become the official stylist for DIRGY, a rising clothing brand. Now my new project has been getting my fashion blog out there, which is just an extension of what I do as a Style Guru. Other than my passion for fashion I enjoy shopping, sketching, dancing, cheerleading, blogging, professional fashion magazine hoarding and my new found love, photography. Fashion icons that have influenced my style would have to be Carrie Bradshaw, Tyra Banks and Lauren Conrad. Designers that really make my pulse race are Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Betsey Johnson. As I’ve always said before, one thing that you can always find in my collection is bows! It is the ultimate feminine symbol that represents being classy yet fun, which I would say is a perfect description of my personality. But over the fall semester I have developed a need for head scarves and an obsession with all shades of lipsticks. I love the pop of color and the finishing confidence boosts it gives to an outfit.
As always, you can find me in Richmond, Virginia where there are clothes, friends and fun! I’m so excited to be continuing as a Style Guru but even more excited to work as my new position as Style Advice of the Week. I have some wonderful secrets and tips to share with you. As always I hope you enjoy my posts as much as I enjoy fashion itself! Have a great semester.
