Hey Fashionistas! This is my first article with CollegeFashionista and I’m ecstatic to be bringing you the latest trends around campus here at Columbia College in Chicago. I’ll be a junior here at Columbia in the fall of 2015, with a major in Fashion Business. After graduation in May 2017, I’ll be pursuing my dreams working in the fashion industry.

My love for fashion came around when I was about 10 or 11 years old; I started following my style inspiration, Rachel Zoe. I’ve watched her work her way to success from the bottom up. She is not only an inspiration for style but she inspires me as a successful business woman, designer, mother and wife — there’s not much the woman can’t do! She encapsulates everything I hope to be someday.

I’d describe my style as chic, tailored and mostly formal. My mom dressed me very matchy-matchy when I was younger so maybe I get the more tailored, color-coordinated trait from her! Although, don’t be surprised to find me wearing something grungy or boho; my style does a lot of the time depend on my mood, as I’m sure many of yours does as well! I like to try new up-and-coming trends and see how they fit my style, then decide if I like them; I don’t necessarily just put myself in a box of liking something I’ve never tried out.  Here I am showcasing my personal style with a sleek white blazer, my favorite statement necklace and some chic Tommy Hilfiger heels!

I can’t wait to continue my adventure as a Style Guru here at CollegeFashionista. I feel honored to be a part of your community and make my mark in your world.
