STYLE GURU BIO: Jenna Hutson

Hello, all my beautiful Fashionistas/os! My name is Jenna Hutson and I am an upcoming senior at Savannah College of Art and Design, majoring in fashion marketing and management. I have lived in Virginia, grew up in North Carolina and when I am not in Savannah, I hang out by the pool at my mom’s house in southwest Florida. I am at my most content chilling on the beach or cuddling up to my sister’s 25 pound cat who I am almost positive was a dog in the past life the way he likes to carry around his toys or my clothes. I prefer being outside to sitting in and watching Netflix (though, don’t get me wrong, I can binge watch the latest original series with the best of them!) and I am an avid runner and swimmer.

I would say that it has taken me years to find my style, but if I am being honest, I know that I haven’t quite found it yet. I love to play around with the trends of the moment and can often be found scrolling through Pinterest, Instagram or any and all fashion blogs that I come across hoping to find a new idea that could lead me to my next style breakthrough. When I’m not focusing on trends or trying to dress fashion-y for classes or just for fun, you can find me in my worn out high-waisted jeans and a flowing tank top or T-shirt. Comfy and casual are words I live by and delicate, simple jewelry is my daily go-to choice.

That being said, like many of you I have an intense love for shoes. From sky high heels to my high school Chuck Taylor’s, I am obsessed. I know that I have way too many and I know that I don’t need to buy any more, but that sale on Hautelook is calling my name, I swear. When I’m not lusting after the newest Stuart Weitzman booties or going for a run around Forsyth Park, I can usually be found reading the next book my grandma has lent me or blogging about my latest attempt at trying “that weird vegan french toast recipe” I found online.

In this look I am wearing a super soft and stretchy midi dress from H&M that I bought on a whim and have seriously been living in this summer. I paired it with an old denim vest that I always reach for on days when it’s just a little too warm for a denim jacket. I added some height to my 5’2 frame by throwing on an open toe chunky ankle boot that adds a little something extra to the otherwise simple outfit with it’s multitude of buckles and studs. I have my fair share of fashion jewelry, but with this outfit I stayed with my typical style by choosing a delicate glass-faced pendant necklace and a single Alex and Ani starfish charm bracelet.

I am so excited to start my first semester as a Style Guru and I can’t wait to see what new style inspiration this fall brings me!
