STYLE GURU BIO: Jenna Fishelberg

Hello! My name is Jenna Fishelberg and I am an undergraduate student at The Ohio State University.  I am studying fashion and retail merchandising, accompanied by a double minor in business and entrepreneurship and innovation. I am from Plainview, New York which is about an hour outside of New York City.  As much as I loved growing up so close to the city, I never planned to settle there.  I have an outgoing personality that is full of spirit and energy, which is what made going to an out-of-state school so appealing to me.  As a result, I decided to pack my overflowing closet and move all of my belongings to Columbus, Ohio.

Ever since I was younger I have always had a strong imagination.  I would sneak into the coat closet on the daily and dress myself in what I thought looked like Disney princesses.  After being dressed by my mom as a child in the most girly baby clothes possible, I guess my inner self thought it would be a good idea to rebel.  I went through a major tomboy phase and refused to wear anything but my brother’s clothes.  After some time, I eventually grew out of that phase and became infatuated with the fashion world. I began to appreciate new trends and wanted to do everything possible to develop my own style.

As I matured, my personal style developed into a mix of boho and street style.  I’m always on the hunt for new ways to revamp my wardrobe and I’m always down to test a new style.  I’m not much of an accessory person, however, shoes are my life addiction.  Shoes can either make or break an outfit, so why not own as many as possible to avoid a crisis?

Velvet and overalls—name a more iconic duo…vI’ll wait.  The overalls I’m wearing here are currently the star of my wardrobe.  When I first saw them my jaw fully dropped and I thought to myself that if there was any garment in the world to describe me, these would be them.  As I continued on my shopping spree that day I ran into the gorgeous metallic shoes that I am wearing in the outfit as well.  The silver shine brings out the undertones of the overalls which is why I decided to pair the outfit with the silver clutch as well.  To finish off the outfit, I layered a simple loose long sleeve bell shirt to keep the focus of the outfit on the overalls.  No need to take the fame away from something so perfect.

This is just the beginning of my amazing journey with CollegeFashionista and I cannot wait to share some of my favorite styles and campus finds with you all.  Here’s to an amazing spring semester, cheers!
