STYLE GURU BIO: Jemma Pinueva

Hello there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Jemma Pinueva and I am a freshman at the Northern Arizona University majoring in Strategic Communication with emphasis in Public Relations.

I was born and raised in a small town in Russia, where most people were not interested in the fashion industry. But since I was a little kid I have always been fascinated with the fashion world. For me, fashion has always been more about expressing myself rather than following trends. What I love about it the most is that I can show the world who I am and how I want to be perceived through the way I dress.

I started exploring fashion at a very early age through magazines, TV shows and fashion blogs. This made me realize that there was something more outside of my small town and even my country. That is how I decided to go to college in the United States, which is the best decision I have ever made in my life.

I would describe my personal style as feminine but still edgy. In this case, I chose a turquoise midi skirt, warm sheepskin coat and fun platform boots. I love this look not only because it reflects who I am as a person but also because it is amazingly warm and classy (thanks to my mom’s MaxMara neck scarf). As I said before, I was born in Russia, therefore, I should stay warm when I visit my family during winter break. If you live in a cold state, you can easily copy my look and enjoy your winter break without being cold.

I am ecstatic to be a Style Guru this semester and can’t wait to start exploring the fashion world at Northern Arizona University. I hope you all will enjoy my articles and if you do, make sure to RAD them!
