STYLE GURU BIO: Jasmine Vice

Hi guys! Jasmine here from Montclair State University with a major in fashion studies. As I enter my second year of college, my main focus has been to experience and learn as much as I possibly can.

One of the experiences I have decided to venture into is doing internships since they are such an important part of your time in college. I’ve known about CollegeFashionista for awhile and never thought I’d become a Style Guru! Though just beginning, it already is turning out great. Being able to meet so many awesome Fashionista/os that are interested in the same thing as me and networking with them is one of my favorite aspects.

Along with college, my position as men’s team lead at Urban Outfitters is also very important to me and my overall development. Having a job in clothing/retail is helpful because I am able to apply what I learn in college to my work and vice versa. As if that weren’t enough, I have just recently been offered the fashion director position of my school’s magazine called NeonLuxe! So just add that to my list of things to be anxious for, I cannot wait to get started with that during spring semester and seeing all that I can learn and apply.

Now that winter weather is coming in strong here in New Jersey, my style motto is “great shoes and even better jackets.” Living in the Northeast, having a coat is definitely a necessity. But being the Fashionista that I am, just any coat will not do. Aviator style coats have always been my go to when purchasing outerwear which is why I had to snag this fabulous burgundy corduroy jacket. Since it’s lined with sherpa, it is not only cute but super warm as well! Since the jacket is already an eye catching piece, I decided to pair it with a gray waffle knit turtleneck and gray skinnies for a simple monochromatic effect. I am a major fan of contrast in my looks, though a moto-style black bootie would have been great, I had to go for some camel brown booties to complete my look.

During this spring semester, I have joined my college’s study abroad program and I will be traveling to London this March! Traveling is apart of my main focus as well because it not only gives me more experiences but perspective too. Plus shopping in other countries is always a plus, right?
