While attending Teen Vogue Fashion University last year, the thought of living in New York City for a summer internship seemed more realistic than ever. After spending this past semester as a Style Guru, working full-time and taking a full load of classes at South Texas College, I knew I had what it took to make my summer internship experience an unforgettable one. Aside from being a Style Guru and office intern at CollegeFashionista this summer, I will also be a fashion intern at Seventeen magazine.
I will be spending my entire summer in New York City for the first time, and as you can imagine, this small town Texas boy has a lot of learning to do. Soaking in everything New York City has to offer will be such an amazing experience, and I can’t wait to see the positive effect that these next three months will have on my goals, career and life. I am extremely grateful for this unbelievable opportunity and can honestly say that CollegeFashionista played a major role in making my dreams become reality.
In terms of my style, denim is always a must. I’ll be working in stylish offices and running around the city on a daily basis, so I made sure to pack my suitcase with several of my favorite caps, bags and sneakers. This is my trusty method of transforming an ordinary button-down and pair of jeans into an ensemble that shows my personality and keeps me feeling comfortable.
I will be reporting STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK from the Big Apple and as always, hope that you are just as inspired as I am from this semester’s crop of stylish Fashionistos. Be sure to start the week off in a fashionable way by checking in every Monday morning for my weekly posts featuring style stars from the City that Never Sleeps.
