STYLE GURU BIO: Jacquelyn Marino

Hello everyone! My name is Jacquelyn Marino, and I will be a sophomore this upcoming fall at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Not only do I get to live right on the beautiful Hudson River, but I also get to study a subject I have been dreaming of ever since I was a little girl, Fashion Merchandising! This is my first time interning for CollegeFashionista and I’m very excited for this upcoming summer. I’ve always loved reading and looking at all of the different fashion blogs out there and can’t wait to actually be apart of such a great blog!

I am originally from Portland, Oregon but a little piece of my heart has always been in New York City. Not only is it one of the fashion capitals of the world but it is a city with so much life, personality, and culture. I love how the city is always changing and the fast pace which, of course, I adore because it is what fashion is all about and is a big reason why I love it so much.

As cliche as it sounds, I’ve always had a passion for fashion. But truly, from a young age I always wanted to chose what I was wearing, as well as the people around me because of the personality it gives an individual. I shortly realized after being apart of Nordstrom’s BP Fashion Board last year that I needed to make my obsession for fashion into a career and I have loved every second that I have spent studying it!

I love to add my own personal touch to anything regarding my style. Therefore, I would classify my style as both simple yet very detail-oriented. I like to add details to anything, from my hair to shoes to jewelry and everything in between. In the outfit I am wearing above, the ripped denim and french braids are the small but simple details I was trying to highlight because I think it really makes the outfit come to life through my personality. Both the sky blue T-shirt and gray knit jacket help to further emphasize the details of the outfit, which wraps up exactly what my style is all about.

I can’t wait to share my style advice throughout the summer with you guys and hopefully help you with your next summer look!
