STYLE GURU BIO: Jacqueline Holben

Hey all! My name is Jacqueline Holben. I am currently a sophomore at the University of California, Berkeley. I’m so excited to be a Style Guru this fall.

I am an Art History major and hopeful Architecture minor at Cal. I’m currently teaching a student taught class on Set Design. This class gives students the opportunity work creatively with other students on photo shoots for Bare Magazine and pair with FAST (Fashion and Student Trends) to create the set for the bi-annual end of semester fashion show.  I love this project because of the unique personalities and styles of each artist, designer and model involved.

My passions include both art and athletics. Along with working with the talented group on Cal Set Design, I am a coxswain on Cal’s Women’s Division 1 Rowing Team. As a result, my daily fashion tends to blend both athletic gear and higher-end clothing.

Because of my practice and class schedule, I generally need to be able to get ready for the day quickly. Therefore, my favorite clothing items include dresses, rompers and jeans as they are easy to throw on and get moving. I am a fan of the bare-faced trend and tend to cap my makeup at tinted lip balm (this one is my personal favorite) and mascara.

Even though my clothing style is generally relaxed, I LOVE jewelry, especially chunky rings like this one. You’ll often catch me wearing rings with my outfits.

I can’t wait to be a part of this incredible team this semester.
