STYLE GURU BIO: Isabella Truong

Hi Fashionistas! I’m Isabella Truong, a first year student at University of California, Santa Barbara. I’m so excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista community and to be able to get to know so many creative people with the same interests as me. Fashion has always been one of my top interests and I think it’s such a great way to connect with others.

What I love about fashion is that it is so personal and really captures someone’s own style and personality. I think that how you style yourself can be an outer representation of your inner feelings and that it is truly a mode of self-expression. Fashion really gives everyone the ability to express their uniqueness and that’s what I love about it.

My style is influenced a lot by the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. I love to thrift shop and find vintage pieces that can really reflect those decades and the free spirit and style that they had back then. In this outfit, both my shirt and dress are from thrift shops. I also really like the idea of thrifted items because it shows how timeless some fashion trends can be. My outfit can be recreated with a sheer blouse, denim dress, some heeled ankle boots and your favorite cross body bag.

Now, a little more about myself. I am currently undeclared but would like to go into digital marketing and media in the entertainment and fashion business. I love taking photos, shopping and finding the cutest coffee shops. Also, traveling is one of my favorite things and I will always jump on the opportunity to go somewhere new.

I can’t wait to see where this semester with CollegeFashionista goes!
