What up fashion freaks and geeks, thanks for visiting my page! My name is Helen Zhao and I am a rising junior at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, known more affectionately as: The Zoo. Luckily for you and me, that nickname has nothing to do with some of the fashion flaunted around campus. I am lucky enough to spot so many outfits and accessories around campus that I am dying to steal on the daily and I can’t wait to share the style with all of you!
I am a double major in Hospitality/Tourism Management and Communication. What two years of living on campus has taught me is that the rooms there simply cannot contain enough of the clothes and shoes I need. Keeping up with current trends can be tough, especially when you are a poor college student, so be on the lookout for some tips and tricks I have to help save some money while still keeping up with the times.
My favorite trends at the moment have got to be first, the comeback of mesh that’s starting to take over stores everywhere, and second, platforms for everyone. My go-to clothing staples are my mesh bodysuit from the unique boutique Nun Bankok and my Jeffrey Campbell Aurelia flat-forms. The pictures above show my other favorites, boyfriend jeans from another boutique, Shop Civilized and my white flatform sneakers from ASOS.
Over the summer I work as a waitress at two different restaurants and wearing uniforms is really the only thing I hate about it. I cannot wait until fall, when layers and oversized sweaters come back into play. I love to wear lots and lots of black, leopard print, snapbacks, rings and, if I were rich, I would fill my closet with Alexander Wang. My most valued aspect is my eyebrows and my hair never stays the same color for long. I love to eat, so second to a fashion blog, I would be all over foodie blogs. The gym has recently become a second home to me and who knew gym wear could be so cute? I am so excited to spend this summer as a Style Guru and I can’t wait to share my ideas with all of you.
