STYLE GURU BIO: Hannah Ware

Hi! Hannah here and I’m so excited to embark on this journey as a Style Guru intern for CollegeFashionista! I’m currently studying journalism and French at the University of Mississippi with the hope of pursuing a career in the magazine industry on the editorial side.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved shopping. Along with my love for shopping, came my love for fashion. Many of my childhood memories revolve around fashion. When I was little, I lived for dressing up my Barbie Dolls, not to mention both of my younger sisters. I was always getting into my mom’s make-up and wearing her high heels around the house. A lot of my memories are associated with a specific outfit or piece of clothing I wore. I call it style-association.

I like to spend my free time reading and writing and I’m an avid believer in the power of a morning cup of coffee…or two. I would love nothing more than to explore all 50 states and travel the world. I’ve currently visited 19 out of the 50 states, and have been to Ireland and Mexico. I may or may not have an online shopping addiction, and I might be a slight perfectionist. I was born and raised in the capital city of Arkansas and attend college in small town Mississippi. Now, don’t get me wrong, no place compares to Oxford, Mississippi, but my soul desires a big-city life—Manhattan will forever have my heart. I have been told by some of my northern friends that I am the worst southerner they have ever met. I don’t like drinking sweet tea or eating fried chicken wings, and I love cold weather, hence my collection of over 30 sweaters.

Most of my style inspiration stems from Danielle Bernstein of the WeWoreWhat fashion blog. I admire the way she can flawlessly transition from edgy, feminine styles to confident, menswear inspired looks. I live vicariously through her Instagram, Snapchat and website updates, secretly wishing her closet was mine.

In these photos, I’m wearing three of my favorite trends from this season: an off-the-shoulder top (ever since I borrowed one of my roommate’s, I’ve been obsessed), a choker (because who doesn’t want to let their inner teen angst shine) and my favorite pair of flatforms (these give a tall gal like me just enough extra height, and they’re comfy, too).
