STYLE GURU BIO: Haley Diel

Hey Fashionistas, I’m Haley Diel and I’m an Environmental Science major and Art minor at Loyola University Chicago. This is my first semester with CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru and I’m pumped.

Is everyone getting used to being back on campus? I’m enjoying the lingering summer warmth here in Chicago in a flowy gray quarter-sleeve T-dress with a floral back. I’m from Kansas, but I’m back for my sophomore year here at Loyola. I’m an Alpha Chi Omega sister. I enjoy long boarding concert going and shoe shopping. I also love thrifting and finding unique stores with funky accessories.

I’m in love with Chicago’s style, from edgy city looks to the sunny flowy lakeside wears. This city has so much diverse style. One of my favorite things to do when I’m here is explore the Belmont area because it has a hipster vibe, great shops and fun places to eat. Living in Chicago, my favorite styles are changing all the time I love everything from the bright colors and patterns to classy or edgy black and white getups. My favorite styles have some sense of comfort and versatility. This outfit was great for my first day of school. The headband jazzes up any outfit, especially for going out and the dress with leggings makes a great outfit when the fall gets cold. I also love long necklaces because they liven up any outfit while keeping a more casual vibe than a short statement necklace. I also love playing with them. The one I picked with this dress is a silver tassel locket necklace that’s super fun. I love flowy pieces, whether they be dresses, tank tops or even pants; loose and flowy is my ideal way to go. I also feel like clothes are an art form and they show everyone how you’re feeling or what you’re into, so expressing myself is what my style is all about.
