STYLE GURU BIO: Guadalupe Aldana

Hi Fashionistas, my name is Guadalupe Aldana, also known as Jackie. I will be a senior this upcoming fall. I’m a Marketing major and I will have a minor in Fashion and Merchandising. I’m so excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I will be able to share my insights and tips on different fashion trends that I see. I can’t wait to see what everyone is wearing!

A fun fact about me is that I was born in Mexico, and then immigrated to upstate New York. As an upstate New Yorker, I am accustomed to four seasons, yet my favorite is the summer. Summer is the season that brings the most versatility to my wardrobe. The warm summer sun allows me to wear the perfect sundress. Summer is all about keeping cool and looking cute. Any person enjoys being comfortable, but there is real talent needed in making it stylish. Right now, my closet is full of shorts, dresses, rompers and cute blouses. Usually, I wear a lot black in the fall, but in the summer I try to explore my style by wearing different patterns and colors. It is important to explore different patterns, colors and accessories. Make this summer the most stylish yet.

I’m that person that thinks that fashion starts from head to toe. You can have the perfect outfit, but your hair and shoes also have to be on-point. As a Mexican woman, my style is influenced by my Mexican roots and culture. Although my style has been influenced by my Mexican upbringing, my everyday college vernacular also plays a significant role in my fashion choices. As an upcoming perspective alumnus, I’ve been making more conscience decisions regarding my professional wardrobe.

I will be posting every week about trends and different summer styles. Stay tuned!
