Coco Chanel once said, “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.” As a firm believer in fashion’s ability to express one’s self, I truly feel that fashion is more than just a closet full of fabulous finds. I have always felt as though fashion has the ability to aid as a self-esteem booster, as men and women alike have the capability to not only dress the part, but more importantly, feel it within.
My name is Fortune Tarantola, a senior at Sacred Heart University, celebrating my third and final semester writing for CollegeFashionista! Although I must sadly say goodbye to my Connecticut home for the past four years, I am ecstatic to start my next journey, with dreams of someday moving to New York City. I have always had a passion for fashion and all things girly. My style is simple yet chic, as I tend to accentuate my feminine/bohemian side, occasionally debuting my edgy side with every girl’s guilty pleasure: leather.
As I take the leap from undergrad to Alumni, I am excited to see where Sacred Heart takes its fashion program, as the University plans to expand upon its fashion design and merchandising programs in the years to come. In my final semester, I hope to spread the word about SHU’s up and coming fashion program, making students aware and excited. It has been an honor to represent Sacred Heart University’s Fashionistas and Fashionistos in seasons past. So join me in my final semester as I tackle SHU’s latest and greatest spring fashion finds!
